Box Elder Burl & More

A few pens I made on my vacation.
I was going through my stash of woods and ran across a piece of Box Elder Burl I recieved in a swap with some one and I can’t remember who but thanks. I made a JR Gent in Black TI with it and forgot the tube taper and put it together backwards but I got it apart and fixed it.
The second I recieved in a swap and it is Spalted Massarnaduba on a streamline kit and it lookes like snakeskin but cool.
Third is a piece of Camelthorne I picked up at WC in the bargain bin I put on a streamline pen
Fourth is a piece of Tiger Myrtle I picked up at WC in the bargain bin I put on a streamline pen
Fifth is a Texas Live Oak on a Sierra Style pen

Sixth is an Olivewood on a Flatop American Pen

Exotic Looking Mesquite Burl Pens

I made these 2 pens this week out of some really punky and dry Mesquite Burl a friend sent me.  The first was from the third attempt after the other 2 blew out on me and I was very happy with it.  The second started out as an ugly duckling and grew into the beautiful piece it is now.  I have a couple of pictures showing the blanks at partially turned and just mounted on the lathe so you can see where they came from.  The kit is a Black TI finish which complements the pen greatly.  Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
